My cousins Quinn and Crystal gave me some great ideas about how to turn my blog into a beautiful journal or scrapbook. This is the reason why my posts have been a little longer than usual. Blogging will be a great way to journal and scrapbook our family. Of course I need to write in my own personal journal (which I have to admit I am about 3 years behind), but my cousins have done an amazing job of capturing family moments and photos in their blogging journals.
Anyway, here is an update about the five of us. I don't want to forget these little details down the road.
Cale: All consumed with deciding whether we should trade in our Durango on a 2-year Chrysler van lease. Their leasing program is coming to an end August 1st. I won't bore you with the details, but it could be a pretty sweet deal. And I never thought I'd be 30 with three kids while driving a van. Very busy with work, comes home with different test vehicles. For some reason he is supposed to be putting miles on them. Very nice considering gas prices these days.
Suzette: Working hard to get in pre-children shape before my 10 year reunion in October. The definition of "working hard" in this case is getting to the gym 2-3 times each week and sporadically walking in the evenings after the kids go to bed. This definition has changed from about 2 kids ago!) Taking the kids to the park, library, and Averie's summer day camp. Trying to take full advantage of the summer while it lasts. This is usually eventful considering it takes me at least 20 minutes to get the kids in the car! :) I am loving the summer and already dreading the winter.
Averie: Thoroughly enjoying Summer Day Camp. She gets to dress up like a princess tomorrow for "Fairy Tale" Day. The camp's theme for the week is "Once Upon a Time." Each day has a different theme (Dr. Sues, Adventures of Curious George, etc.) So fun! Averie is such a grown up person in a little body. The other day she asked me to help her spell out all of her friend's and cousin's names so she can invite them to her party when she turns four. This took a long while, but she worked so hard. This week she has enjoyed sharing a room with Kempton. They talk and talk until they fall asleep at night.
Kempton: He is being weaned from the binky this week. He only gets it for naps or sleeping. This makes him incredibly excited to go down for his nap. In the morning, he knows exactly what to do and he hands me the binky. Occasionally throughout the day he will whine for his binky, but so far so good. Next is the bottle. One thing a time. He wakes up every morning and wants to wake Averie up by yelling her name over and over again, "Wee-wee! (this is what he calls her), Wee-wee!, Wee-wee!" His vocabulary is improving and he has started to say short sentences.
Brenna: Oh, sweet Brenna. She is sitting up very well these days and has started crawling. What? Crawling? Yes, Crawling! But she's too young to be crawling. I know! She is getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth. She'll get up on her knees and then scoot forward from there. Still slobbery as can be. Started eating sweet potatoes and then spitting up orange on our carpet. Maybe I should cancel that appointment to clean the carpets this Saturday. We are trying to get her used to sleeping in Averie's room and maybe only getting up once during the night? So far so kind of good. I think it just took her being out of our room. She doesn't even cry, just smiles. I think she should teach this method of getting attention to her brother! :)
That was a great idea! We miss you wonderful kids some much. I can't believe how great Brenna's motor skills are. She blew me away at the reunion. I love how bright and sweet Averie is and Kemptom holds such a special place in hearts know the boys will grow up to best of friends. I love how sweet and independent he is. MISS YOU!!!
ReplyDeleteAhh welcome to the world of early crawlers. It messes up the whole plan, but does keep them occupied a bit more. 2 of mine crawled really early.
