My first name is Florence. My nickname is Flo. I go by Suzette.
People who know me well know that I'm not your typical health nut. I live to eat delicious food. In fact, the weirder the better. I am not picky at all. This is a far cry from my days as a little girl who would pick out all of the peas and place them in a pile on my plate, never to be eaten. I was not as innocent as I looked (see above). I do indulge, specifically on
Great health is about moderation, not obsession.
I am a stay-at-home mom to four children eight years and younger, two of which are redheads (imagine the fiestiness in our home). I wouldn't want to be doing anything else with my life right now, although admittedly this was a hard decision for me to make as I prepared for the birth of our first child. I had the first three monkeys in three years, and my youngest is six-months-old, so this is definitely a full-time job. I love being with them every day.
Almost 13 years ago, I married a country boy who loved everything about his homestate of Wyoming and did not appreciate my beloved California. But after a decade of life together, it seems as though we have had a role reversal. He is the city boy and I appreciate the country. I'm guessing he converted to city life after living in major metropolises like Mexico City and Detroit.
As for me, I will always be a California Valley Girl at heart.
Prior to this current life of mine, I earned a B.S. in Health Promotion/Lifestyle Management from Weber State University in 2002. I chose two emphasis: Nutrition and Exercise Physiology. I also have a minor in Nutrition. I worked in my field for several years as a Community Health Educator, Nutrition Counselor, and Exercise Physiologist. I also have experience as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor. I do miss the career sometimes, but have had opportunity to dabble in my field here and there...
"My passion is to educate, challenge, and empower others to achieve their personal health and fitness goals. Integrating exercise with proper nutrition and a positive mental focus is what I aspire to teach- the "inside out" approach to a balanced lifestyle."
My husband teases me when I say, "I'm all about prevention." But it's true! It is important to do everything we can to take care of our mind and body in order to prevent disease and premature aging. It is better to prevent than treat something that could have been prevented. In order to help our odds of living a long and active life, we need to live a healthy lifestyle. The benefits of great health are priceless.

Maybe you fall into the above categories, but I sure don't. I fall into the "thirty-three-year-old-aging-mother-of-four-children-who-hardly-has-time-to-sleep-yet-alone-exercise-for-more-than-45-minutes-and-needs-to-feed-her-family-well-balanced-meals-on-a-budget" category.
I can't always eat organic. I need fast, easy, and nutritious. There is no time in my life to be fanatic about anything. My objective is to be fit, healthy, and feel good. I can't always leave the house to exercise and definitely can't spend hours at the gym. I need quick and effective workouts.
I have a feeling many of you need the same, and I hope to help however I can. By sharing my personal experiences and nutrition and exercise knowledge
As I was doing a little "research" in the
blogging world, it became obvious to me that there aren't any health and fitness

Blogs promoting a fitness or nutritional
product
Blogs by 20-something experts with hot
bods
Blogs about running
Blogs about clean, organic, and whole eating

This blog will follow my far-from-perfect quest to raise four incredible kids. It will focus on my passion for nutrition, health and fitness, and may even get off the subject into my obsessions with order, cleanliness, home decorating, and attempts at creativity. And if you read my blog.....Thank You!
