Santa Baby

Christmas time is here! We've had lots of fun getting ready for Santa:

Gingerbread houses...don't you just love the kits? Much easier than how we used to make them.

Our Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. All of our Christmas decor is in storage so we had to think outside the box this year. We made gingerbread cookie ornaments for the first (and probably the last) time. I made one pan to eat and the other for ornaments. When I came home one night after work, I immediately noticed that half of the ornaments were gone! I asked Cale what happened, and he just shook his head with a grin. I guess Brenna and Kempton took several bites from most of the cookies...just leaned right in and went to town! It's probably a little much to ask a one and three-year-old to contain themselves.

Too many cooks in the kitchen?

For Family Home Evening last week Averie and Kempton wanted to act out the Nativity. Kempton insisted on being the donkey with ears and tail. We heard "hee-haw" at random moments throughout. Very spiritual.

looks like you are entertaining them well! I've always wanted to make real gingerbreads for my tree--now you've inspired me to do it (mmm, maybe next year though:)

You are so creative. I love the pictures. Brings back memories of making Gingerbread houses with Elizabeth. We made houses every year till she left for college. Don't stop that tradition. I love the blog. Take care.

Tell Kempton that the donkey was a REALLY important part of the Christmas story and that I LOVE the ears. Also, please note that Mary is WITH CHILD in the picture...hahahaha. Was Brenna Jesus? Your kiddos crack me up, I love you guys!
