To give you an idea of the bond felt between cousins, the sweetest thing happened the first night we were there. Averie and Kempton took over Brett's bunkbed with Brett sleeping on a mattress on the floor in the same room. In the middle of the night, Brett began to sob and walked into Chad and Sue's room for comfort. He tried to tell Sue something, but she couldn't make out what he was trying to tell her because he was sad (plus it was the middle of the night). He asked his mommy the same question several times and finally Sue understood. "My cousins are gone!" he said. Sue assured him that his cousins were still here, and that they were sleeping right next to him in his bed. He went back into his room, looked for Kempton and Averie, and fell back asleep.
Sue and I crammed (like sardines) all five of our children in the car and headed to Disneyland. They were troopers! Daddys met us there later.
