She Can't Be 7 Already!

Pin It Brenna has a known obsession with monkeys.  We aren't sure where it came from, but she is very passionate about them, even to the point of wanting a "Monkey Party" for her 7th birthday.  It was a fun party to plan!

We made these Monkey invitations with brown, tan, and pink card stock, along with googlie eyes and a black pen for the face.  The key is to make sure the ears are on the side of the face (not too high) so that it doesn't look like a bear instead.  I played with my camera, the background on this one turned out too blurry!  And then I accidentally blurred out the invite.  haha

This one is better but then I chopped off Brenna's head.  One of these days I'll figure it out!

This one is the best of the worst.

Now for the monkey food:

The monkey cupcakes were a hit!

We had banana splits.  Because monkeys like bananas.  Get it?

The table scape and decor, I got most everything from Oriental Trading.

The cutest 7-year-old!

The guests had a lot of fun with the activities.  First we had a race who could get the most monkey's in a chain for "Monkeys in a Barrel."

Then we had a bean bag toss with our monkey bean bags (Oriental Trading too).

Then everyone was assigned a zoo animal and they had to describe what they were for their friends to guess (without saying what they were of course).

Then we did the opposite where everyone was assigned an animal on their back and they had to find out what they were.

We finished with homemade mini pizzas and cupcakes.

Such a fun party!

She requested cake batter pancakes with chocolate chips for breakfast.

And was spoiled by Grandparents, along with a few from Dad and Mom!

Little miss sunshine turns 7 today! Her birthday is a hard one for this Mama to swallow because I know I can't bottle up her sweetness and innocence forever. If I had to describe Brenna in one word it would be this: Delightful. She makes me feel like the best mama to her with all of her compliments. She lights up a room with that big smile, mouth-wide-open giggle, dimples, and beautiful red hair. She is sweet, nurturing, forgiving, happy, and oh so lovable! Happy birthday to our "tiny fairy child" (as we call her)! Sure do love you.
