Easter this year:

It just wouldn't be Easter without a bonnet! Averie's preschool had an Easter bonnet parade where each child made their own at home from stuff around the house. We made ours out of a foam plate. She was really concerned how the boys in her class would make their Easter bonnets.

I put on the Easter party at preschool, the kids seemed to have a great time. They had a bunny hop relay race, made these bunny masks, decorated Easter basket mini cheesecakes, and had an educational egg hunt (ex: Averie found all the eggs with four dots on them, each child had a different number), and of course had a visit by the Easter bunny.

This was their reaction when they saw the Easter bunny:

Look at Averie's nervous smile. After this picture, Averie said to me, "That's OK mommy, that bunny is probably just a person inside." Oh crap!

In between General Conference sessions on Saturday, we went to the park with some friends for an Easter egg hunt. It was lots of fun, other than the fact that we are still wearing coats!

For Family Home Evening, we had a lesson on Jesus' death and resurrection. I'm always amazed at what these little ones grasp, especially when it comes to the gospel. The only set back was trying to convince Averie and Kempton that it is OK to say "die" when we are talking about Jesus. We topped it off with some egg dying:

The other morning when Kempton got timeout for something I can't even remember, his baby sister decided to join him in the corner. I'm thinking he probably didn't learn his lesson. I didn't even have to tell them to smile in this picture, they both thought it was the funniest thing ever. So naughty:

These little monkeys woke us up at 6:45 am on Easter morning. Averie was too excited to wait until her normal wake time of 8:15 am, and then of course she woke up her partners in crime. Needless to say, I knew it was going to be a Loooooooong day! Thinking on the bright side, we were actually on time to church for once in our life, which was a good thing considering it was our sweet niece's blessing day! The day started with a little egg hunt and a present from the Easter bunny. In between we spent quality time with grandpa, grandma, and all our uncles, aunties and cousins in Michigan. The day ended with exhausted kids as predicted.

Here they are in their Easter Sunday best:

Suzette, your kids are just so wonderful. I can't believe how fast they are growing, I like that last picture of the three of them. It looks like Brenna loves to keep up with her older brother and sister! So cute.

I loved the Easter dresses. So perfect for them! The day was great and I'm refusing to think that that may have been the last big get together for awhile!

Love the "time out" picture. They don't look very sorry, but how could you not love the grins on their faces? It's hard to be mad when they are that cute!

I love the smocks your kids are wearing for dying eggs. I need some of those. And I need a girl so I can get a cute Easter dress and curl her hair.

Adorable matching dresses! And my little Paisley is terrified of those big easter bunnies. She screams at the site of one from even far off. Look like you performed super mom beautifully.

I love the picture of them all on their own chairs with their own Easter baskets. Too cute. And, the curlers in Avery's hair remind me of my own childhood. I had those curlers put in my hair everynight. Can't wait to do it to my own daughter!
