I am so grateful for the father of my children.  I've said this before, but I am so impressed with how connected he is to our children's emotional needs.  When we have a child who is struggling, I don't have to point it out to him.  He takes it upon himself to fulfill their needs.  He will come up with ways to spend more time with them individually.  He has a lot on his plate, but we are his priority and he would rather spend time with us than do anything else.  We are his hobby, his friends, and his life.  He strives to find a healthy balance between work, home improvement and car projects, church, children, wife, and now school.  After all of this, there is no time for his own hobbies or interests.  I love how much he loves our newborns, he wants to do all the grunt work and gets a thrill when they smile at him and recognize him as their Daddy.  I'll hear him laughing in the other room when they coo and smile at him.  He loves holding them and nurturing them.  He knows he is not perfect, but recognizes areas of improvement and tries each day to be better than the previous day.

This Father's Day was very special as I thought a lot about my own Dad and how important he is to me.  My emotions right now are a little tender as I think about how fragile this life is and how we should never take it for granted.  My Dad is such a beautiful example of faith and obedience.  He is valiant and always shows integrity.  These are the most important qualities to have.  I love how he keeps up with his kids on all the latest gadgets and I love his MANY quotable sayings that are unique to only him! We've counted over 30 of them.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's in my life!
