Christmas Eve 2016

2 Thessalonians 2:15
"Stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught."

We had family over for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner of sun-dried tomato pasta,  along with a festive lettuce salad.

After dinner, the kids prepared for the Nativity play, where they each had a part.  It was amazingly great, they included a song to go with each scripture read.  It was so sweet and we all felt the spirit.

After the play, everyone opened their Christmas jammies.  This year we had an "Under Armour" theme, since that's all the rave at school these days.  Even Dad and Mom got in on the action.  Kinlee and Buddy couldn't care less about popular trends, so they got what they would enjoy.

Lastly, Cale read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" (in a Russian accent, we were all laughing so hard we were crying).  Such a funny Daddy!  Our kids have no idea how good they have it with him.

With the weather a bit worrisome, everyone decided to head home.  We went out to look at the Christmas lights all over town and to have some hot chocolate.

I just love our traditions, they are nothing spectacular or unusual.  Just sweet and simple.  It would be hard for me to leave home for Christmas Even because I know our children love them just as much if not more than I do.  Traditions like these are what bind our family together and create special memories.  They will remember the things we did over and over each year as they grow up and have families of their own.  And just like us, they will combine their traditions with their spouses, as well as make new ones of their own.
